In the J-PARC Main Ring (MR), suppressing beam loss has become the top priority in achieving a 1.3 MW beam, as maintaining a hands-on maintenance environment is essential. One of the primary sources of beam loss is the random third-order resonances of 3νx = 64 and νx + 2νy = 64. We have successfully mitigated these beam losses using 4 Trim-S units, either the original 4 sets or 4 newly selected ones. However, beam loss persists due to the resonance influence on off-momentum particles (∆p/p = + 0.2% and -0.2%) and unaddressed fourth-order resonance 4νx = 85, which is combined by νx = 21 and 3νx = 64. Hence, a project involving 24 Trim-S units has been proposed. This paper presents the specifications and overall configuration of the Trim-S upgrade based on the parameters of Trim-S magnets and current settings, with consideration of the MR 1.3 MW power upgrade.
